Levi's Vintage Clothing asked me if I'd be interested in hand painting 2 of their beautiful leather jackets for a travelling exhibition celebrating the 1950's biker jacket in all its rebellious glory. I like a challenge as much as the next man, so I gladly accepted. Having not painted seriously since my fine art degree, and having NEVER painted on leather, I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the results. All the artists involved got free reign creatively - I looked at a lot of old cigarette packets for inspiration (they seemed appropriately rebellious). If anyone would like me to customise their jacket, boots, shoes or bag etc, then please get in touch. I'm keen to do more. Some info on the show here.
