This was a series of postcards produced for the Zavvi chain, which unfortunately went bust a couple of years ago. But before that little tragedy, these cards were in about 130 high street stores. This series was a spin off from the Icons greetings cards. They were designed with collectibility in mind, like a series of trading cards. The selection here is largely representative of my personal tastes, with a few more commercial picks thrown in for good measure (I'm not a particularly big Tupac or Oasis fan).

Rest in peace JMJ. I love this pose… and Kangols are one my favourite items of old school attire.

Surely one of the finest mc's ever to grace an eardrum. Certainly he has a flow that's hard to beat.

There's really only one Biz Markie, and for that I will always be grateful. I love it when he 'sings'. In fact, I love it when any rapper does 'singing'… the more out of tune, the better.

Dungarees. Acceptable in the 90's.

Aka Biggie Smalls. One of the great storyteller rappers, and sorely missed.

My favourite from this series, Bitch!

Another sorely missed soulful entertainer. A good friend of mine once nicknamed me The White Isaac Hayes… flattering, but not exactly accurate. No chocolate salty balls on me!

Soul Brother Number 1.

He wants to get with you. Can't you tell?

What a lady. And what a voice! If you can't hear the passion and pain in her voice y'all need to git yer ears fixed up.

Debbie in the 70's is just too much!
